Nine Years Recommended for Deadly Driver
7/6/2012
The sentencing hearing for Frank Tamok played out in a Penticton court room on Thursday as emotional victim impact statements from Bradley Lentz's family were read.
Tamok is charged with criminal negligence causing death and bodily harm, and failure to stop at an accident, stemming from the multi-vehicle accident in Penticton on July 3, 2011.
Several people were injured in the accident and Lentz, 32, of Devon, Alta., died.
Crown counsel asked the Judge that Tamok be sentenced to at least nine years.
Tamok's lawyer asked the judge to go lighter on him, requesting a five year sentence with less credit for time served, ultimately ending up with a sentence of four years.
Tamok will appear on July 19 for sentencing.
