S.A.D.I. to Launch Grand Opening of Summerland Half Pipe
7/24/2012
The Summerland Asset Development Initiative (S.A.D.I.) will hold the official grand opening of Summerland's new skate park ramp this week.
The new half pipe was created by professional skate park designer RJ Dueck along with volunteers and local students.
The grand opening will take place at S.A.D.I. on Thursday July 26th, 2012 from 5-7 PM and riders are encouraged to bring their own helmets and boards.
Thanks to the community support of Summerland Builders Mart and Akribis Construction the ramp was built with volunteer manpower and supplies.
S.A.D.I. hopes to attract more students with the opening of the ramp and accepts youth between the ages of 10 and 18 during the summer months Monday thru Thursday from 12-5 PM.
The pipe was also built in conjunction with Skatelife Canada, an organization that supports youths, diversity and positive community enhancements.
There will be free burgers and beverages at the opening and all community members are welcome to attend.
