RCMP are looking for a man who may have attempted to abduct a young girl in Summerland.

On Friday afternoon a 13 year old girl was walking on a trail near Victoria Road North and Julia Street when a man came up behind her and grabbed her by the hand.

The girl attempted to pull her hand away and slapped the male in the face before screaming and scaring him off.

He is described as Aboriginal, 30 to 40 years old, 6 feet tall, and 175 pounds.

He was wearing a black sweater with black cotton pants and runner and is said to have scaring or pockmarks all over his face.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Summerland RCMP or Crimestoppers.
