Accident Caused Shut Down on Highway 97 in Oliver

The highway was closed for about an hour on Thursday


An accident caused by a man suffering from an undisclosed medical distress forced Highway 97 in Oliver to be shut down for some time on Thursday.

According to Rob Graham from the Oliver Fire Department, the man drove into a telephone poll near Desert Gem RV Park and needed to be helped from his car by paramedics and fire fighters.

The highway was shutdown for over an hour and traffic was rerouted. No update on the man's health condition was given.
