Fire Fighters and Search and Rescue Save Penticton Man From Serious Accident
A high angle rescue crew and Penticton fire fighters helped pull a lone driver who tumbled a couple hundred feet down a steep embankment, his vehicle plummeted more than 400 feet.
Penticton SAR Manager Cindy Smith says members got the call just before 8pm Sunday for a vehicle veering off of Saliken Drive.
Smith says the man was found 250 feet down an embankment, outside of his vehicle.
RCMP Sgt. Rick Dellebuur says the driver's SUV was stuck in a ditch, and as he attempted to get out, he was over the embankment.
Dellebuur says the man is in critical condition at Penticton Regional Hospital.
