The RCMP have changed the number of people confirmed dead after an avalanche near Revelstoke this weekend.

Mounties originally stated three people were dead after the slide hit Boulder Mountain Saturday afternoon.  As of Sunday morning, police say two males are deceased, with 30 injured.

Corporal Dan Moskaluk says 19 people were released from hospital.  One person remains in critical condition, while three are in serious condition.  They have been transferred to Kamloops Royal Inlands Hospital, Kelowna General, Vernon Regional, and Calgary Foothills for care.

About 200 people were on the mountain at the time for a snowmobiling event known as the Big Iron Shootout.  Police have been knocking on the doors of hotel rooms to pinpoint exactly how many people are still missing, as search crews return to the scene.

A warning was issued by the Canadian Avalanche Centre, saying there was a considerable risk of an avalanche this weekend.
